Höhbergweg Nr. 17

Route characteristics: 90% asphalt, 10% dirt path

You start at the Harbach Moor Spa and follow the trail markers to the natural swimming pond. This beautiful, flat route takes you past the Holzmühle Inn and pastures with horses and sheep. Here at the natural swimming pond, an Africa Festival takes place once a year; the setting of the Africa Village bears witness to this. Now you have the option to change your hiking route and join the Moaßlerweg (No. 22) and then the Nebelsteinweg I (No. 20). If you continue hiking, however, after about 2 km—now slightly uphill—you’ll reach a fallow deer enclosure. Here, you have the option to take a detour to the “Garden of Human Rights.” This themed trail familiarizes you with your fundamental rights while also offering a beautiful view of the town of Lauterbach. As you pass the small chapel, your starting point—the Harbach Moor Spa—remains in sight the entire time.
