It starts on the 1017 m high Nebelstein in the upper Waldviertel and runs mostly in a southerly direction into the Styrian wine country to Eibiswald. Along the way, it touches a wide variety of landscapes and encounters Austria's cultural assets. With the exception of the Hochschwab and the Eisenerzer Reichstein (surefootedness and a head for heights required in some places), it can be described as a family hiking trail.
