Route characteristics: 30% asphalt, 70% forest trail
Starting at the Harbach Moor Spa, you’ll soon reach a wooded area via a dirt road. On your left is a small nature trail information kiosk where you can learn all sorts of interesting facts about “Life in the Forest.” Shortly after that, you’ll reach the first trail junction; from there, turn right and head up the “Felsen.” After this challenging climb, you can treat yourself to your first breather on a rest bench. After a short, downhill section, you’ll reach the second steep climb. Once you’ve conquered this, you’ll be at the highest point (853 m) of your hike. You’ll then come to a clearing where a carved image of Jesus can be seen on a wooden cross. Take a moment to sit on the bench and enjoy the tranquility of the forest. If you’re still up for it, you can hike from here along Trail No. 18 to the “Xundwärtsparcours Hirschenwies” (Motorikpark®). In a quarter of an hour—or 1.7 km—you can put your agility to the test at 30 different stations. Otherwise, head down the gentle slope from the “Rotes Kreuz” to the “Hoch über Lauterbach” viewpoint. From an oversized bench, you can enjoy a magnificent view over Lauterbach. From there, the path continues on paved roads through the village of Lauterbach back toward the Harbach Moor Spa. In the center of Lauterbach, you can also stop by the “Garden of Human Rights.”
