Steinbergweg Nr. 13

Route characteristics: 40% asphalt, 60% forest trail

At the town hall, walk upstream along the road through the village toward Mandelstein. About 30 meters before the “End of Village” sign, a narrow paved path crosses the stream on the right. Follow this path and walk past the last houses in the village. After the last house on the right, a dirt road branches off the main road at a right angle. Passing the small square farmstead, the trail leads up the hill. As soon as the terrain flattens out, you’ll first walk along the edge of the forest before entering the woods a short while later. Less than 100 meters further on, you’ll reach a fork in the trail. Here, you must turn sharply to the right. (The left path connects to the Mandelsteinweg.)

After turning, the path continues uphill through a hollow for a short distance before leading out of the forest again on a slightly steeper descent.

After leaving the forest, continue straight ahead across the meadow, still heading downhill. To your right are the houses of Harbach, and directly ahead you’d be able to see the Moorheilbad if the foliage of some shrubs and trees weren’t blocking the view.

Passing a line of shrubs, the trail continues downhill for about 200 meters. Here, you can already make out the municipal office down to the right—the starting point of your hike. At the large oak tree, you’ll reach the country road; turn right onto it and then walk leisurely the last 100 meters to the end of your trail.
