Wultschaubachweg Nr. 15

Route characteristics: 10% asphalt, 90% forest and meadow trails

From the parking lot of the Franz Himmer Congress and Event Center, the trail takes you past the first stops on the “My Path to Happiness” themed trail. Right at the bridge, cross the state highway and follow the Wultschaubach stream. The trail is flat and easy to walk. But take note of the typical, varied landscape. Meadows, grain fields, and vegetable patches alternate rapidly here before you reach a small grove. There are also a few stops along the themed trail here, which then branches off to the left at the small bridge. You, however, continue on to the “Steinernes Weib” (Stone Woman), a legendary stone figure located a short distance from the public barbecue area with its covered hut. From there, continue for about 2.9 km along the Wultschaubach stream to the village of Wultschau. Here, at the inn—which the locals call “bei der Heidi”—you can enjoy a hearty snack and are sure to meet many locals. Then you’ll head back the same way to the Franz Himmer Congress and Event Center, the starting point of your hike.
